"This was last week I went in to see if they needed a doula, and since there were no women in labor who could use my help, they asked if I would like to visit an ante-partum patient. I ended up visiting for about an hour with a young mother who had been in the hospital for a couple weeks already due to complications in her pregnancy. It seemed like she really appreciated a visitor. We talked about her birth plan and her hospital stay so far and lots of other things. She just needed to visit and talk to someone new I think."
